Steve Kons was elected to Council for the fourth time in 2022. He was first elected in 1995.
He has lived and worked in Burnie for 30 years, where he has run businesses and raised his family. His priority while in Council is to see rates kept down.
He is the Local Government Association of Tasmania voting delegate for Burnie City Council and the Tasmanian Water and Sewerage Corporation Pty Ltd Owners’ Representative for Burnie City Council.
Councillor Kons enjoys welcoming the cruise ships into Burnie and is passionate about promoting the city and seeing the benefits of its economic progress flow on to the community.
