Municipal Emergency Management Planning

Burnie City, Circular Head and Waratah Wynyard Councils together have formed the Western Emergency Management Committee to consolidate planning for emergency management in the three Council areas.

The Emergency Management Act 2006  requires all Councils prepare and maintain a Municipal Emergency Management Plan which sets a framework to guide emergency management at the municipal level .

The major elements of the plan are:

• Preparedness
• Response
• Recovery
