Camdale Development Proposal

The proposed $35 million Strait Hotel at Camdale Beach will feature 72 beachfront rooms, luxury apartments, dining venues, and conference facilities. Led by Tasmanian developer Errol Stewart of JMC Property Group, the project aims to elevate the visitor experience along the Bass Strait while honouring the coastal landscape. In July 2025, the developer sought community feedback on the proposal.

Notice of Intention to Dispose of Public Land

Burnie City Council determined at its meeting on 23 September 2025 its intention to dispose of four parcels of land for the purpose of sale.
