Water

water

TasWater manages water and sewerage services in Tasmania. To report any faults or emergencies relating to water or sewerage systems, please contact 13MYWATER (13 69 92) or enquiries@taswater.com.au

Recreational Water Quality

Council monitors the water quality of frequently used swimming areas such as beaches and creeks as well as public swimming pools.

Stormwater

A stormwater drain is infrastructure designed to drain excess rain and ground water from streets, car parks, footpaths, sidewalks and roofs. Council manages an extensive urban stormwater reticulation.

Water Suppliers and Carriers

Council facilitates the registration of private water suppliers and carriers to ensure that those residents who purchase water from them have access to a safe supply.

On-Site Wastewater Management Systems

These are used for the treatment of sewage where the reticulated sewerage system connection is unavailable.

Flooding

What is flooding and where does it occur in the Burnie municipality? Information about flood awareness and what to do in an emergency.
