The Opportunity
Burnie City Council has an exciting opportunity for a Civil Construction worker to join our busy Civil Construction team and work on various projects and sites.
The Civil Construction team is known for the pride they take in maintaining, operating, and constructing the municipality’s transport and stormwater services.
The role is integral to the Works Department to ensure essential services are delivered to the community.
This position would see you working on operational maintenance and capital works project to upgrade, construct or maintain the city’s transport and stormwater infrastructure.
About you
The vacancy is for a skilled candidate who holds a formal qualification in Civil Construction or equivalent trade. Council’s preference would be for applicants to have a Certificate III in Civil Construction; however, Council would consider applicants with a Certificate II in Civil Construction who are willing to complete at Certificate III. A current Tasmanian car and MR Truck licence with a safe driving record is required.
Ideally, hands on experience in a Local Government environment would be favourable however not essential but enthusiasm, teamwork, quality focus, safe work habits and a great work ethic is a must.
