Seeking Feedback on Burnie’s New Cultural Centre

In 2021 the Burnie City Council developed a new vision for the delivery of artistic and cultural services for the City of Burnie.

This vision is centered around refurbishing the existing Burnie Arts and Functions Centre, to create a multi-faceted hub that will bring together art and museum exhibitions, performing arts, events, functions and a diverse range of workshops, all in one building.  An ever changing Centre that evolves and brings all sectors of our Burnie community together to celebrate and learn about our heritage, our future and everything in between – the stories that our community want to tell.

This is a significant project for Burnie’s future, and one of the major goals of Council’s vision is to establish a Centre that non-traditional users of the existing Centre will want to visit.

So please get involved, have a look at https://www.burnie.tas.gov.au/draftArchitecturalPlans and give us your feedback!

If you like what you see please let us know!
If you have some comments about the draft architecture, let us know those too!
Request for feedback closes 7 November 2022. Leave Feedback

We encourage the community to come along to the drop-in session to ask questions and to get a good understanding of what is proposed to allow you to provide informed feedback:  5-7pm Wednesday 26 October Burnie Arts and Function Centre.

If you can't make it to this session, there are also displays for you to view the floor plans and other visuals at any point during the consultation process during business hours:

  • The Council Centre foyer 80 Wilson Street
  • The Burnie Arts and Functions Centre foyer
