Road Closure or Occupation

If organisations require a road to be closed for an event (e.g. a Christmas Parade) or to place a street stall on the footpath (e.g. raffle or information), or perhaps a business or a resident has works to do outside of their property (e.g. painter or a builder, build a driveway) they will first need to lodge an application with council.

There are two types of permits:

• If you propose to close a local road or street from traffic see: Road Closure for Events

The Burnie City Council may grant permission to temporarily close local roads for community events

Occupying a Council Street for Activity or doing Work

Would you like to occupy or close a portion of a public road reserve / street / footpath for an activity or works such as: street stalls, fundraising, performance, busking, maintenance, construction, storing materials/equipment, or moving livestock? (Road Occupation Permit - ROP)
