Council provides a range of waste and recycling services to help keep our city clean and sustainable. Here you’ll find everything you need to know about your kerbside bins, collection days, recycling right, and using the Waste Management Centre. By working together to avoid, reduce, reuse, and recycle, we can all play a part in making Burnie a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable place to live.
About Council Waste and Recovery Services
Council is committed to diverting waste and reducing landfill by making it easier for everyone to do the right thing. We provide inzone fortnightly kerbside waste, recycling, and FOGO collections, CBD waste and cardboard pickups, public place recycling and litter collection. At the Burnie Waste Management Centre (BWMC), recoverable materials are sorted for reuse and recycling, green waste is sent to Dulverton Compost, and any remaining waste is transported to the Dulverton landfill for safe disposal. We are also a part of the North West Regional Waste Alliance, participating in regional and state waste diversion initiatives funded by the state landfill waste levy.
