What Stays Out of my FOGO bin?

❌ No Bags – not even compostable bags. All bags are rejected because they can be mistaken for the wrong material, potentially introducing unwanted chemicals that affect soil quality.

 

Do NOT put in your FOGO Bin:

đŸšĢ Soil, large branches, heavy logs
đŸšĢ Concrete, rocks, ceramics
đŸšĢ Plastic, metal, textiles
Treated timber, gravel, rocks, or building materials 
Fireplace Ash 
Recycling, Glass, tins, foil

General waste

  • Tetrapaks (e.g. milk, juice cartons)
  • Nappies
  • Cling wrap

 

 

Products possibly containing traces of plastics or chemicals 

  • Biodegradable liners or containers
  • PLA #7 takeaway containers
  • Tea bags or coffee bags/filters

 

 

Health Risks

  • Pet waste or kitty litter
  • Dead animals or roadkill
