Proposed Public Places By-law

Published on 31 October 2025

Council intends to make a new By-law, to be known as the Public Places By-law.

This is proposed to replace the former by-law, known as the Public Reserves and Public Buildings By-law, which expired in 2021.

The draft By-law is currently open for public consultation and feedback until Monday 24 November 2025.

The Official Opening of Burnie Arts

The official opening of the redeveloped Burnie Arts centre will be held on Monday 10 November 2025. A simple event is planned, putting local community groups front and centre alongside the many Federal, State and Local politicians who will also be in attendance.
