Published on 26 March 2025

The road bridge spanning the Guide River on Oonah Road is due for replacement.

The works will include:

  • Replacement of the existing concrete deck.
  • Replacement of the existing abutment on the eastern side.
  • Installation of compliant safety barriers.
  • Upgrade the approaches to suit the new bridge where required.

Oonah Road (between Guide Road and the Quarry) will be closed to all traffic from Monday 31 March to 17 April to complete the bridge replacement.

This section of road is still to be sealed, resulting in traffic speed limits being reduced to 40km/h. Contractors will be back onsite in early May to complete these works.
We kindly ask that all road users please adhere to the reduced speed limits until then.

Council appreciates that this project does negatively impact on local residents who would otherwise use the road. We understand that this may cause some inconvenience and we appreciate your patience and cooperation during the closure.
