Australia is a multicultural country, with people from all over the world calling it home. In Burnie – we are becoming more diverse. We speak 23 languages at home. The top 5 after English are: Mandarin, Nepali, Punjabi, Arabic Sinhalese. The majority of people moving to Burnie are families with children, migrant services workers, and retirees. Why does Burnie Works run Community Capability workshops?
We run workshops for our community throughout the year. They are short sessions and are usually free of charge. Anyone in our community can learn more about a particular topic. This includes mums, dads, workers, teachers, and young and retired people. When we build the knowledge, skills, and experience of the Burnie Works Team and the local community. This will strengthen our ability to drive positive change in Burnie together
