Council is partnering with the State Government through the Vulnerable Road User program to improve safety on Brooklyn Road at the junction with the walking track.
Planned improvements include widening of the road lane on the north side, installing a pedestrian island on the corner, applying a high friction treatment to the road surface, improved signage, and south side footpath improvements.
Works will begin on Monday, 15 June 2026 and are expected to take around 8–10 weeks, weather permitting.
Traffic management and partial lane closures will be in place during construction.
