Council is undertaking works in the CBD to improve accessibility and safety for individuals with visual impairments.

Accessibility Compliance upgrades in the Multi Storey Car Park have been completed. This involved the teams working on every single step across 4 stairwells.

The work included installing tactiles (textured surface elements) and stair nosing (a slip-resistant surface that helps by improving visibility and grip) to the 3 outer stairwells and the central stairwell.

Stairwells - As part of our Capital works schedule, our building team will begin the Disability Compliance Program in the Multi Storey Car Park.

Tactile Ground Surface Indicators (TGSI's) being installed at the top and bottom of the staircases in the concourse area adjacent the Multistory Carpark.
