Exciting news for View Road 

With View Road area now very popular with bikes users, dog parents and overall general activity, Council is building a new car park and new shelters to allow for the expanding popularity !

Works will commence today (Monday 17 April), with excavations to follow in the coming weeks.

During this time, heavy machinery and trucks will be mobile in and around the site, so please take care and follow all signs, as public safety is our priority.

Temporary pathways will be accessible and short term parking may be reduced at times.

Thursday 12 October 2023

View Road Reserve Carpark will be closed for works tomorrow (Friday 13th October) from 10:30am to 2:30pm.

Traffic control will be on site, as View Road will be down to one lane during the allocated times.

We kindly ask road users to drive carefully and obey all signs and directions from the traffic controllers

 

Monday 9 October 2023

The concreting (kerbs and footpaths) are now completed and our attention now turns to preparing the new carpark base for its asphalt seal.

Beginning Tuesday 10th October, our grader and rollers will be levelling, compacting and building up the base to the right height so we have a hard, dry, stable surface for the asphalt to adhere to. This will be done over the next 4-5 weeks. Line marking of the new parking bays will follow and our Parks & Gardens team will be in to add the finishing touches with mulching and various areas of plantings planned around the space.

We're almost there! We're moving into the final preparation of the base (rolling/compacting & grading) before we finally lay the asphalt seal and paint on the line markings. Landscaping by our Parks & Gardens team will follow.

In the coming weeks, Council will start building the site back up with road base in order to have the carpark in use by mid June 2023

Thursday 29 June 2023

Council has been busily preparing for the kerbs to be put in early July. The asphalt will be laid in the coming weeks after the kerbs have been completed.
