Her Excellency, the Governor-General of Australia

Yesterday Her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC, the Governor-General of Australia, paid a visit to our beautiful city by the sea.

During her visit, she met with Teeny Brumby - Mayor of Burnie, who successfully persuaded Her Excellency (along with her security detail) to partake in a sunrise swim.

What a remarkable way to genuinely be immersed by Tassie.

Additionally, Her Excellency enjoyed lunch with our General Manager, Shane Crawford, and Ian Jones, the President of Business North West.

Her Excellency also toured TMEC (Tasmanian Minerals, Manufacturing and Energy Council), attended the National Reconciliation Week Breakfast, visited The Veterans’ and Families’ Hub, and gained insights into MS Research at the UTAS Cradle Coast Campus.

We sincerely appreciated the visit of the Governor-General of Australia, as well as the enthusiasm she showed for not just our city, but our region.
