About the Opportunity

As part of our casual technician pool, you will be engaged on an as-needed basis to support the delivery of events and productions. This role offers variety, flexibility and the opportunity to work across a diverse program of performances and functions.

You will provide technical support across lighting, audio, audio-visual systems and staging, ensuring events are delivered safely, professionally and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate and pack down lighting, audio, AV and staging equipment
  • Provide technical support for performances, events and venue hires
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise
  • Prepare venues to a high standard, including pre-event briefings
  • Maintain equipment and ensure backstage areas are safe and organised
  • Deliver excellent customer service to clients, performers and patrons
  • Support workplace health and safety and compliance requirements

About You

You are a reliable and adaptable technician who enjoys working in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. You bring a positive attitude, strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to high-quality service delivery.

You will have:

  • Experience in a similar role within an arts, entertainment or cultural venue
  • Skills in sound, lighting and audio-visual systems
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • A proactive, team-focused approach

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Qualifications in Live Production, Performing Arts or similar
  • Dogman/Rigger licence, EWP, First Aid or Test & Tag certification
  • Experience with theatre rigging and lighting systems

Additional Requirements

  • Current Driver Licence
  • Ability to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People Check and National Police Check
