International Day of the Midwife

Every year on 5 May, we take a moment to celebrate midwives and the amazing work they do to support mums, babies, and families.

 

This year’s theme — “One Million More Midwives” — Without them, women, gender diverse people and newborns are left without the essential sexual, reproductive, maternal, newborn and adolescent health services they need.

 

We’d like to send a big thank you to every midwife across Tasmania for your dedication, skill and kindness. You make a real difference every day.  Let’s take this chance to recognise the impact of midwives and show our appreciation for the vital role they play in our communities.
