National Tree Day

IMG_2374.jpeg

In celebration of National Tree Day on July 27th, Cradle Coast NRM staff volunteered for a National Tree Day event organised by Burnie City Council at Guide Falls.

National Tree Day was put in place to help encourage people to get their hands dirty and plant trees for the environment. Since its conception in 1996, Planet Ark has incredibly planted over 28 million trees for National Tree Day!

9 people got their hands dirty planting 280 understory plants and canopy trees to provide forest structure along the walkway to the falls.

They were rewarded by a perfect Winter’s Day and a fantastic setting by the Guide River to plant out the area.

Well done teams!
