- floor care products;
- ammonia-based cleaners;
- pesticides and herbicides;

(Make sure containers are sealed, labelled and transported safely.)
How You Can Help
- Spread the word: Share details with friends, family, and neighbours. The more people know, the cleaner our communities will be.
- Plan ahead: Gather up all your unwanted household hazardous items now so you’re ready when drop-offs start.
- Handle with care: Keep items sealed, original containers, if possible, labelled clearly, and stored safely until drop-off.
Please note:
- No early or late drop-offs can be accepted.
- Residents are encouraged to talk with neighbours or friends to arrange shared delivery if unable to attend at the scheduled times.
- Individual items brought for disposal must be no larger than 20 kilograms or 20 litres each.
The following items are NOT included in this free special service -
- motor oil,
- asbestos,
- pharmaceuticals,
- farm vet chemicals,
- fire extinguishers,
- ammunition and explosives, and
- chemicals from commercial businesses.
This initiative is delivered by the Cradle Coast Waste Management Group in partnership with the Tasmanian Waste and Resource Recovery Board. Together, we’re working to remove a hazardous waste stream from our community safely and sustainably.
These household hazardous waste events are made possible by the State Landfill Levy recovered from waste to landfills in Tasmania. All levy funds are reinvested in services across the state to reduce landfill waste and improve the recovery of reusable materials and develop circular economies.
