IMG_4240.jpeg

ReCFIT is hosting a drop-in session to discuss the proposed Renewable Energy Zones, or REZ in north-west Tasmania

REZ coordinate new wind, solar, transmission and battery storage projects in areas of abundant renewable resources, while protecting environmental, cultural and social values and the first REZ that is being proposed is in our region (see map above).

You can learn all about the proposed northwest REZ here. Public consultation on the northwest REZ is now open, including a landowner drop-in session at Ridgley Community Hall on 29 May and another at University of Tasmania’s Cradle Coast Campus in Burnie on 19 June.

You can also submit your feedback on the northwest REZ here, with submissions closing on 1 July 2024.
