Seaview Avenue Water Main Renewal

Geotechnical investigations - December 2025:

As part of our commitment to investing in new and improved water infrastructure, Taswater will  be undertaking preliminary geotechnical investigations in Parklands, with contractors working along sections of West Park Grove from Monday, 8 December until Friday, 12 December 2025. All works will take place between 9.30am and 2.30pm.

A key section of the water network between Seaview Avenue and Princes Street currently runs through a known landslip area, which poses an ongoing risk to the city’s water service.

To address this, we will decommission the existing water main in the affected area and install a new water main along West Park Grove. This new main will provide a more secure and resilient primary water feed to the Burnie City Centre, moving critical infrastructure away from unstable ground.

These works will help protect the city’s water supply from potential disruption, support future growth, and ensure we can continue to deliver reliable, high-quality water to the Burnie community for years to come.
