December 2025

Marking the end of a long wait and the beginning of safe and enjoyable use for park and nature enthusiasts, the previously closed bridge at Romaine Reserve is now officially reopened!

Originally identified for replacement in the 2024-25 financial year, mother nature had other plans, forcing a premature closure in September 2024 when strong winds damaged the old timber bridge and boardwalk. The new 18m long steel bridge now in place represents the first of many planned bridge replacements under future Capital Works Programs.

The civil crew will be back on site next week to conduct the approach prep (building up the rock and base material for the pathway). Once completed, the building team will complete the installation of the structural footing components, the handrails, and some minor concrete works on the northern end.
