- Timber structure and adjacent boardwalks damaged during storm event (fallen Blackwood across midspan of bridge)
- Parks and Reserves crew remove the damaged structure and implement detours for all Romaine reserve users.
- PDA engaged to conduct survey of creek and surrounding area (received late September).
- Pitt & Sherry consulted on proposal of design of 3 bridges due to be replaced in Capital Program.
October 2024
- Proposal from Pitt & Sherry accepted (Design of 2 bridges at Romaine Reserve and 1 at Shorewell Creek).
(some delays expected due to Christmas close period)
February 2025
- Preliminary design received for Council review (Comments provided late Feb).
- Additional flood data sought to aid final design.
March 2025
- SICC engaged to provide coating specification and perform QA inspections during fabrication.
- Pitt & Sherry implementing requested changes.
April 2025
- Second preliminary set received from Pitt & Sherry.
- Site visit with Billing Cranes, determined would be too difficult to install structure in one piece due to height of surrounding trees. Recommendations passed onto Pitt & Sherry to alter design to allow for easier installation.
June 2025
- Construction set received from Pitt & Sherry.
- Quotes obtained for fabrication from local suppliers.
- The Steel Works engaged to undertake fabrication. (estimated 6-8 weeks)
- Benchmark engaged for CLC.
