Tourism operators wanting to grow, evolve and future-proof their business are invited to attend a series of practical Tourism Tasmania Masterclasses this spring.

These free sessions are led by Tourism Tasmania’s in-house experts and focus on the areas we know best: digital capability, data insights, marketing, media, and distribution. 

Expect up-to-date trends, practical tools, and strategic guidance to help Tasmanian tourism businesses stand out in an increasingly competitive and fast-changing landscape.

While you're welcome to attend just one, we encourage operators to register for all three held in September, October and November to take full advantage of the series  

Part 1: Marketing, messaging and media

The first session covers three key areas to sharpen your storytelling and media engagement:

  • Tourism trends you can’t miss 
    Stay ahead of changing visitor expectations with insights into the latest travel trends shaping tourism in Tasmania. 
  • Sharing your sustainability story 
    Learn how to communicate your sustainability efforts with authenticity and impact and avoid the risk of greenwashing. 
  • Working with media 
    Discover how to build meaningful relationships with journalists and publications to amplify your story and attract new audiences.

Part 2: Travel distribution networks and international readiness

Learn how to tap into strategic travel distribution channels to grow your reach and support long-term business goals.

  • How to align with Tasmania’s international markets and tailor your offering to meet customer preferences

    Understand how AI, chatbots, social discovery and evolving search tools are influencing bookings and how to be found
  • Social media essentials  
    Discover what works now: platform strategies, content tips and format updates that deliver results for tourism businesses

Part 2: Using Data and Visitor Intelligence to Grow

Make smarter business decisions with data:

  • Learn how data can improve your visitor experience and uncover new opportunities
  • Get familiar with Tasmania’s key visitor segments, including our domestic First Time Travellers and Repeat Visitors strategy

Get under the hood of our winter campaign:

  • Explore the evolution of the Off Season and its strategy, brand positioning, and campaign objectives

Part 2: Creating Your Offer

This hands-on session is designed to help you craft a compelling, brand-aligned offer:

  • Work in small groups to brainstorm and refine your offer
  • Learn how to write strong copy and select a great image 
  • Get practical advice on how to optimise your webpage, convert interest into bookings, and use campaign assets to promote your offer
