This vibrant shared recreation area is a hub of activity, is a must-visit stop on the Coastal Pathway with its Pulp and Paper Trail interpretive elements and outdoor exercise equipment.

To the west of the jetty, the beach in front of the Yacht Club is a popular spot for family swimming, paddling, and occasional surfing. To the east, South Burnie Dog Beach provides a spacious off-lead area for dogs to stretch their legs and owners to enjoy the coastline.

 

Facilities include:

  • South Burnie Beach (west of the boat ramp)
  • Off-lead dog walking beach (east of the boat ramp)
  • Colourful public toilets and change rooms, outdoor beach showers, foot washers, drinking fountains (for people and pets), and bike racks
  • Outdoor exercise equipment
  • RV Caravan Dump Point
  • Car park with space for boat trailers  
  • Pulp and Paper Walking Trail
  • Boat ramps, accessible at all tides and protected by a rock breakwater
  • Jetty, popular for recreational fishing
  • Yacht Club, offering family-friendly sailing on Sundays (October–April)
  • Boardwalk Café and Bar (closed in 2025)
  • Cradle Coast Outrigger Canoe Club, providing social and competitive paddling opportunities for all ages and abilities
