Ideas on what to do

 

  • Nature & Wildlife: Spot little penguins along the boardwalk, find platypus, pademelons and echidnas at Fernglade Reserve or Emu Valley Rhododendron Gardens.  
  • Beaches & Swimming: Have a splash at the Burnie Aquatic Centre or book a session at one of the private pools, enjoy beach combing at Cooee, West Beach, South Burnie, Wivenhoe, and Heybridge.
  • Entertainment: Catch a movie, a performance at burnie arts, join a sports clinic, try laser tag or an escape room, and visit the Burnie Library for engaging programs.
  • Parks & Trails: Enjoy Burnie Park’s gardens, playgrounds, and Oldaker Falls. Explore the scenic pathways at Romaine Reserve and View Road Reserve with basketball, disc golf, bmx and mountain biking.
  • Coastal Adventures: Head to the Burnie Waterfront for family fun: snakes and ladders, basketball, volleyball, or walk or cycle along the coastal pathway, featuring new pause point rest stops near Cooee and drop into the skate park.
  • Art & Culture: Admire art deco and federation architecture, exhibitions at burnie arts, and find vibrant murals around Burnie for a creative twist to your holiday.
