This multipurpose shared recreation area is a hive of activity forming part of the Coastal Pathway with its Pulp and Paper Trail intreptative structures and outdoor exercise equipment.

West of jetty the beach in front of the yacht club is popular for family swimming and paddling, and occasional surfing. 

East of the jetty the South Burnie Dog Beach is ideal for dogs to run off lead.

Facilities include:

  • South Burnie Beach (West of Boat Ramp)
  • Off lead Dog walking beach (East)
  • Colourful public toilet and change room facilites, an outdoor beach shower, foot washers, drinking fountains (for humans and our beloved pets), and a bike rack. 
  • Outdoor Exercise equipment 
  • Car park with space for boat trailers, good place to start the pulp and paper walking trail.
  • Caravan RV dump point (DP) station at Reeve St public toilets close by. 
  • Boat launching ramps: accessible during all tides and protected by a rock breakwater.
  • Jetty: a popular spot for fishing
  • Yacht Club: family friendly sailing on sundays Oct-Apr
  • Boardwalk Cafe and Bar
  • Cradle Coast Outrigger Canoe Club: social and competative paddling, family friendly, accessible to all ages and abilities.
