Greta Road - Road Open
The failed section of Greta Road was last investigated on 18 January 2023.
Geotechnical engineers concluded that the road damage has been caused by a washout from an overflowing drain during heavy rain events, displacing the soil and causing a small landslide.
Repair work on Greta Road will commence in the next two weeks and will include:
- Repairing washed out drain and installing a geofabric or like to prevent future washouts
- Upgrading and Installing better catch pits/headwalls in V drains
- Upgrading road crossing culvert size and installing new headwalls
- Resealing of the road
- Clean up batter slips
During remediation works inspections will be carried out to determine if additional drainage measures are required.
