Burnie City Council are extremely excited to partner with Rock Challenge Tasmania to present the Burnie Youth Festival on Friday 22 April 2022.

Now in its 30th year - the Rock Challenge is a state-wide High School (Year 8-10) and College (Year 11-12) music showcase designed to recognise emerging talent and celebrate youth achievement in contemporary music. Acting Mayor Giovanna Simpson said “I am always excited when Youth Week comes around and I am looking forward to this event which forms part of Youth Week 2022. The event is the biggest of its kind in Tasmania and provides a valuable educational platform for our young artists.” Rock Challenge Coordinator Brad Harbeck said “These performance opportunities provide a unique opportunity for young people to perform in front of their peers and the wider community. It gives acts a pathway to continue their musical journey, gain valuable experience and reach a wider audience exposure.”
