This prestigious competition, held annually since 1963, is named in honour of Sir John Morris, the first Patron of Rostrum Tasmania, and a former Chief Justice of Tasmania.
The competition consists of two speeches by each contestant; a 10 minute prepared speech to this year's theme 'Leaving only footprints' and a short notice speech of 4 minutes. Adjudicated by a panel of accredited critics of Rostrum, equal marks are allotted for the impact of the speeches on the intellect and on the emotions.
The public are invited to come and enjoy an afternoon of entertainment stimulation, and instruction, as they listen to some of the best speakers from the Rostrum Clubs of Tasmania.
