Dear Artist,
As highlighted in numerous community surveys and consultative programs, there is a need for artists to:
- become more professional in their processes and output
- have enhanced opportunities to network with other artists
- move toward more permanent employment within the arts industry
- better promote themselves
- have the arts further acknowledged as integral for building a stronger community
- have wider access to business programs
- have a higher level of support from levels of government, business and other sectors of the community including the attraction of funding to the North-West
In order to start to address these issues and to promote Burnie’s creative and innovative people, the Burnie City Council invites you to register as an Artist on the Burnie City Council’s Artist Database.
This database is designed to include professional, semi-professional and developing artists who derive some level of financial income from the arts. To be eligible individuals must reside within the Burnie Municipality.
Information collected from you as part of this survey will be made available publicly on the Burnie City Council website, to individuals and organisations seeking artists and to other arts bodies unless you advise against this on the form. Personal information collected such as ABNs, GST registration and desired training will not be displayed publicly and is purely for the Burnie City Council to better assist artists with training and development programs.
The Burnie City Council thanks you for your continued effort in ensuring that Burnie is culturally alive and a place that people want to visit and live in.
Yours Sincerely,
Allison Daley
Community Development Officer
